Welcome to Jason's Place

Jason Brathwaite

I was born on July 22 1987; such a beautiful date just rolls off the tongue doesn't it. That was the very day yours truly came into this world. I was born in the ever exciting state of New York in the borough of Brooklyn. If you are confused on the concept of a boro just think of it as a town. I love my home town where nothing sleeps and there's alway something to do. After i was born i actually caught a cab to a late night movie, but that's a story for another time. I was create from the genes of Arlene Celestine, who's native country is Trinidad and Tobago, and Rickey Brathwaite, from the island of Barbados. Some people asked if was difficult being raised in a Caribbean family, I always answer with my own question. Why would it be? You listen and you can you feel comfortable sitting the next day. No, but really seriously my parent were not any more or less strict than any loving and caring parent would.

When it was next to attend grade my parents saw fit to put me in a private school, Tabernacle Elementary School. It was any a nice experience, nothing truly spectacular outside of friends I made. Though I enjoyed my Elementary School after six years of ties, dress shirts, and slacks I was glad to graduate. Did I mention I graduated third in my class, pretty nice achievement right? Yea that's what I would think to if I did not know there were only one other person in my class, still do'nt un-derstand how she did theat 0h well. The summer after my graduation I moved about 20 minutes to 30 minutes away from my first apartment. On to Middle school I go, Halsey Middle School to be exact. I thought now I was free on uniform, but not exactly now I had to wear a partial uniform, polo's color classified what grade we were in. Middle school opened my up a bit. I started to hang out with friends after after school, did not have that privilege before hand. I was nice getting to know my friend outside of the classroom. Once again I was a part of a special group of children. I was part of a set of students that were chosen to be part of the bilingual program. All that meant was that include our regular classes, we would also attend a Math course in Spanish. After learning algebra in two language in came time to move on t obetter things.

High School what a great time in a young ones life. Besides the work of course I deeply enjoyed my High School. May people make fun of the name of my school's name but I'll still share the title of greatest, Boys and Girls H.S. The extremely short story behind the name is that there was an Old Boys High and an Old Girls High, they made a choice to join and my school was the off spring. In High School my freedom expanded to handing with friends outside of school, yes that mean weekends exciting right? I was also introduced to sports in High School; football and handball(for all who are not familiar that's racquet ball without the racquet). In 4 years now on to another step in life. It came to not only continue my learning but also move from New York to Maryland. Now I'm I attend Bowie State University and loving every second of it...
